Play in our Corporate Winter League 2010!
Dates & times.
The winter league will run from 25th January and every Monday thereafter, with the final session being Monday 29th March. Sessions will commence from 5.30pm each Monday. Each team will have early, middle and later slots. We anticipate each match will take somewhere in the region of 90 minutes, given the format; so the second session will commence sometime shortly after 7pm, and the third around 8.30pm – it depends how quickly matches are won or lost, of course! Matches can only be played on Monday nights. We may revise this if demand outstrips supply. It would be helpful if players can be in the lounge 20 minutes before their allotted start time, to keep things moving.
Playing format.
We will finalise these details once our numbers are confirmed on the 22nd January. We anticipate leagues, with 2 points for a win. Bonus points for a win 4 holes or larger. The format is foursomes matchplay (ie 2 ball matches, alternate shot) over a different course each round. We will hope to have a maximum of 36 teams playing in leagues. In this case we would have finals on the last night.
Rules.
No handicaps; 2 mulligans allowed per team per match. Otherwise, normal match rules apply; however no draws can be had, so in the event of a tie after 18, the last hole is replayed. Players are welcome to bring their own clubs. Each team can name one substitute; the substitute can play in up to 3 matches, so covering team members unable to play in any particular week. Matches will be forfeited if players are not in (or very close to being in!) the lounge at either 5.30pm, 7.00pm or 8.30pm, but it is a fun event and we would hope everyone will be as flexible as possible, in the spirit of the game. Gimmes 10 feet. In the event of a disagreement, the referee's decision is final. The referee is Charlie – Charlie@clubhouse.co.uk .
Entry.
A one off fee of £40 per 2 man team covers the cost of all 10 weeks' matches . To enter, please call The Clubhouse on 0131 228 3894 to pay your entry fee of £40. We will ask for your name, telephone number and email address so that we can keep in touch. The entry is first come, first served, and we have a maximum entry of 36 teams. Early interest has been significant.
Prizes.
The winner will receive, amongst other prizes, a 12 month membership – in the event of a member winning, their next year's membership will be paid for. Various other prizes will be available – please look out for more information.
